Hellthrasher Productions proudly presents the debut EP of Germany's Isgalder on A5 digipak CD (lim 200). Isgalder (translated from Old-High-German as „icy chant“ or „cold incantation“) was founded in mid-2017 by Grimwald (Dauþuz, Wintarnaht) – vocals/guitars, and Moppel – drums/bass/keys. Hailing from the Thuringian Forest, the band emerges with a splendid piece of epic pagan black metal influenced by early Falkenbach and Bathory. Their debut EP tells a little story about the journey of a man, wandering old forgotten paths in search of nature and solitude. The journey to the hall of the stars...

I'd say Havukruunu is the inheritor of Quorthon and Bathory. Male choirs, vikingesque themes and tales of Finnish paganism from the happier times before our ancestors were made to convert or die by sword of blooded cross. These songs bring a tear into my eye when I think my ancestors being forced to kneel in front of a murderer.

PSA: if there was an album you heard a couple years ago and thought it was ok, listen to it again and you might love it. That's what happened to me with this album. I cannot fathom why it didn't stick with me back then. Same thing happened with Decoherence's Unitarity for that matter.
