This is the way it is done .. no stretching out the songs , and no dilly dally... just go to work and get work done . Excellent no frills straight ahead black metal in the traditional vein. The follow up full length is amazing .. do yourself the favor .

Very good modern Black Metal. Fast, ripping, scratching and straight to the point. I'm very glad these guys didn't end up making 10 minute + songs with a three minute intro and some atmosmphere crap in the middle. THIS is how it's done.

We are proud to present another excellent addition to our roster: Gjendød - a new mysterious force in Norwegian underground. Hailing from Trondheim, the duo unleashes its debut demonstration on CD and tape formats through Hellthrasher Productions and Darker Than Black Records, respectively. With 20 minutes of fierce yet memorable Norse Black Metal in the classic mold, Gjendød evokes the aura of 90s legends (Mayhem, Burzum, Ulver), while giving a nod to the local (Trondheim-based) acts such as Thorns and early Manes; from ugly to beautiful, from slow to fast, from freezing to burning - always on the edges of this old Norse Black Metal style. The band's intention is to resurrect that primordial spirit and let it die again..

PSA: if there was an album you heard a couple years ago and thought it was ok, listen to it again and you might love it. That's what happened to me with this album. I cannot fathom why it didn't stick with me back then. Same thing happened with Decoherence's Unitarity for that matter.

This is the most personally appealing piece of music I have run into in a long time - from the beautiful lyrics and art and the crushing, non pretentious gorgeous heavy music. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, crushing - are there are other words? Gorgeous, exquisite....
