Nordic Luciferian Discipline is the debut release of the Finnish black metal act Caestus - a duo consisting of Vexd (Kangeheet, Odiosior, To Conceal the Horns, ex-Alghazanth) and lead vocalist/drummer Skymion.
Caestus brings fresh nuances to Finnish BM sound drawing influence from the olden days and the olden ways. This covers also the musical approach which has strong emphasis on riffs and strong pounding drums.
"it’s packed with piercing riffs and sparkling leads, and the layering of the guitars make an electrifying impact. The songs are also dynamic affairs in which the drum rhythms change repeatedly and the dark moods of the music do as well, channeling derangement and desperation, bitter hopelessness and grim defiance. A great discovery." - NO CLEAN SINGING

Guitars, sharp as frosted razorblades, demonic vocals and fast forward songwriting are the main characteristics of "Kriegswesen", a worthy follow-up to 2019's black pearl "Der schwarze Hort". This recipe works very well but is also quite the same in each of the four songs. Besides this little lack of variation there is nothing to complain about. All songs are rousing, full of energy and highlights in each black metal playlist. Check "Aufklärung". H.L.

I only discovered IKU-TURSO by a split release with Kalmankantaja and was overwhelmed afterwards by their latest release "Pakana". As the Finnish atmosphere, the piercing guitars and perfect interaction of melodies and harsh black metal thrills me, I ended up putting all releases of this Nordic horde to my collection. I can only recommend doing so, as grand songs like "Bleached Bones in Utter Darkness" should simply be heard by all real black metal enthusiasts! H.L.
