Brutalist_Receptacle This is a six-string lance across your bloody capitalist boil. Flow pus! Encrust our unworthy organism. Rise shared scars in malignant forest undergrowth. But wait! I am cauterized with bass + drums. Choke damned cymbal! Favorite track: Når sårene er renset.

flightoficarus (Metal Trenches) Another raw dose of underproduced, grim black metal inspired by the classic second wave sound. As such, it is appropriately cold, ugly, and depressive. Over the course of the album Gjendød alternate between blazing acts of righteous fury and melancholic, doom-infused trudges through lonely forests. This duality makes for a relatively dynamic listen, even if the down moments conjure some pretty dismal thoughts. All par for the genre, I suppose. Personally, I prefer the cascading, descending tremolos of faster tracks like "Når sårene er renset." That one gives me some early Taake vibes.

cvltcorgi888 H'what? Where have I been and h'why has it taken me so long to discover these blokes? Each album is an evolution of their sound and they may not be reinventing the wheel, but their brand of black metal always sounds fresh and lively. Er, maybe rotted, frozen, and dead? Favorite track: En pålagt byll.

Chris Krupa Stvannyr might be right about this. Vocals are, once again, totally nuts. Favorite track: Når sårene er renset.

about

Krigsdøger, the second full-length from the bloodiest Norwegian black metal duo Gjendød, will be released March 9th on CD and digital formats. The follow-up to the acclaimed debut LP 'Nedstigning', the album brings nine brand new tracks, balancing infernal wall of sound
with evocative melodies and prominent bass lines. Be prepared for their most intense and varied work to date that still retains the band's distinctive Norse flavour.

"I have no hesitancy in saying that Krigsdøger is the band’s best work yet. They continue to demonstrate a powerful talent for channeling contrasting moods of ravaging cruelty and deep despair, but here they’ve raised the impact of the music to near-mythic levels, portraying these dark and thoroughly dramatic sensations in a way that seems unearthly, frequently creating an atmosphere of chilling grandeur or haunting catastrophe." (NO CLEAN SINGING)

"With pure malevolence and blackened vigilance, these heathens offer up nine new tracks that are every bit as twisted, malicious and atmospherically potent as you would hope for. (...) From beginning to end, Krigsdøger is a great record." (CADAVER GARDEN)

"..there is absolutely no doubt that "Krigsdøger" is one of the best albums in the genre. Had this album been released 25 years ago, it would surely be a cult classic today." (BLACK SALVATION)
