Guitars, sharp as frosted razorblades, demonic vocals and fast forward songwriting are the main characteristics of "Kriegswesen", a worthy follow-up to 2019's black pearl "Der schwarze Hort". This recipe works very well but is also quite the same in each of the four songs. Besides this little lack of variation there is nothing to complain about. All songs are rousing, full of energy and highlights in each black metal playlist. Check "Aufklärung". H.L.

Now, here we have an exceptionally solid piece of northern pagan metal!! Like early Emperor with a folkish touch, this is too brilliant and well composed to be missed. Kursma
Apocalyptic thrash? Check. Fist-pumping hooks? Check. Unquestionable evil? Check. The Norwegians' ferocious new album has it all. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 4, 2018

I only discovered IKU-TURSO by a split release with Kalmankantaja and was overwhelmed afterwards by their latest release "Pakana". As the Finnish atmosphere, the piercing guitars and perfect interaction of melodies and harsh black metal thrills me, I ended up putting all releases of this Nordic horde to my collection. I can only recommend doing so, as grand songs like "Bleached Bones in Utter Darkness" should simply be heard by all real black metal enthusiasts! H.L.
