Norwegian excellence. They've offered the traditional aspects of 2nd wave with their own flavor melodic riffs. Enjoyed the way they used bass. Massive atmosphere throughout the record. Stumbled upon this band recently and they're on of my favorites in bm now.

Krigsdøger, the second full-length from the bloodiest Norwegian black metal duo Gjendød, will be released March 9th on CD and digital formats. The follow-up to the acclaimed debut LP 'Nedstigning', the album brings nine brand new tracks, balancing infernal wall of sound
with evocative melodies and prominent bass lines. Be prepared for their most intense and varied work to date that still retains the band's distinctive Norse flavour.

I'd say Havukruunu is the inheritor of Quorthon and Bathory. Male choirs, vikingesque themes and tales of Finnish paganism from the happier times before our ancestors were made to convert or die by sword of blooded cross. These songs bring a tear into my eye when I think my ancestors being forced to kneel in front of a murderer.
